The objective of the project was to upgrade the role of the 19 Central Public Libraries, supervised by the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affaires, as well as to adjust their mobile units to serve the schools of the wider area. Within this framework, EKT adjusted the ABEKT system to the operation of the central and the mobile library as a single unit, published manuals for its use, organized seminars, contributed to the development of the Union Catalogue of Public Libraries and translated in Greek /published the Dewey Classification System.
