The project’s objective was to develop,
organize and provide digital content of various categories,
confronting both technological and market issues. The
project created the conditions for observing, developing and
adopting state-of-the-art technologies in the sector of
digital content and contributed to the general goal for
Greece’s participation in the European Research Area and for
the implementation of the Action Plan for eEurope. The five
main activities were:

Digital Library:
Development/Enrichment of the
national S&T content (secondary sources and electronic
journals, Internet links, digital archives, etc.

Content organization – Development of
tools and data structures: Development and utilization
of software tools, procedures, classification systems,
thesaurus and archives for standard terms.

Planning of an information system for
the dissemination and utilization of research results:
collection, organization and provision of
information/content that can be utilized by the business
community to integrate research results in the
production process.

Development of the Greek CORIDS web
service: The site promotes the Greek RTD activities and
enhances the cooperation among Greek and other European
organizations.

Development of
an integrated and dynamic unit for the digitalisation of
various types of content and corresponding
infrastructure for the management of documents.
