The National Documentation Centre and the Research Committee of the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are organising an information day on
the 7th Framework Programme for Research of the European Commission. The
event will take place on 22 September 2006, in Thessaloniki (Makedonia
Palace Hotel).
The officials of the European Commission (DG Research and DG Information
Society and Media) will present analytically the following programmes/thematic areas:
- The programme "Ideas" and the role of the European Research Council.
The programme will be implemented for the first time under the EU
Framework Programmes and will support investigator-driven “frontier
research” carried out by individual teams competing at European level,
as well as by entirely national teams.
- The programme "People" for the mobility of researchers and the Marie
Curie Actions.
- The programmes "Cooperation" and "Capacities" and, specifically, the
following research areas: Health, Information and Communication
Technologies, Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities, Research
Infrastructures.
The event will offer the opportunity to experts from academia, research
institutes, industry and governmental organisations, to be informed about
the 7th Framework Programme before the announcement of the first calls for
proposals at the end of 2006.
