One of the most successful and popular programme of Operational Programme for Research and Technology (EPET II, 1994-1999) was the Industrial Research Development Programme (PAVE). This programme was concerned with the modernisation of enterprises and the improvement of their competitiveness through the development of new or improved products and production methods. It also promoted technological innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies in traditional sectors of Greek industry.
