The Greek National Documentation Centre, as a National Contact Point for
FP6, is organising a series of events to introduce the objectives and the
opportunities of the 6th Framework Programme (FP6) in Greece.
The first launch event will take place in Athens, on 18 and 19 December
2002. It is hosted by the National Documentation Centre in collaboration
with the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, and will focus on
the following thematic priority areas and horizontal activities:
a) Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health (18 December)
b) Information Society Technologies (IST), Research Infrastructures, New
and Emerging Science and Technologies (NEST) (19 December)
The latter will also be the subject of the second event in Thessaloniki,
on 20 December 2002, which is co-organised by the National Documentation
Centre and the Thessaloniki Technology Park, in collaboration with the
General Secretariat of Research and Technology.
The events will offer the opportunity to experts from academia, research
institutes, industry and governmental organisations, to be informed about
the objectives and the priorities of the FP6, the new instruments
(integrated projects and networks of excellence) and the first calls for
proposals.
The events will feature speakers from the European Commission (DG
Research and DG Information Society) as well as from Greek universities and
research centres.
