Fit for Health: Promoting sustainable participation of high-technology, research-intensive SMEs operating in the Health Sector in FP7

Programme

7th Framework Programme

Funding European Commission
Duration 2010-2013
Description - Objectives
The project “Fit for Health: Promoting sustainable participation of high-technology, research-intensive SMEs operating in the Health Sector in FP7” started in October 2010, as the follow-up of the successful project “SMEs go Health”, in order to support the high-technology and research-intensive small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and researchers in the entire innovation pipeline in the Health sector.
The project comprises 27 partners, most of which function as National Contact Points for the FP7, specifically for the programmes “Health” and “Research for the Benefit of SMEs”. The main advantages of “Fit For Health” are the renowned innovation experts, the highly qualified trainers and a variation of educational programmes. The project supports researchers and enterprises during all phases of FP7 projects, from the project idea to the efficient and effective valorisation of project results, including the development of the consortium, the composition of the proposal, the negotiation for the funding, the management of the project and the effective utilisation of the results. The cooperation between the SMEs and the academic community is encouraged via specialized services and tools.
The database and the tool for partner search (match-making tool),  developed in the context of “SMEs go Health” and already popular, will be used for the development of competitive consortia. The National Documentation Centre participates in the project as Work Programme leader of Dissemination, Promotion & Networking activities.
