The Asia IT&C programme (Information Technology and Communications for connecting Asian countries with the EU member states) was initially launched at the end of 1999, with a five-year duration. In November 2003, a Second Phase of the Asia IT&C Programme was decided in order to continue the co-financing of mutually beneficial partnerships in Information Technology and Communication between Asia and Europe.
The programme aims to support, promote and strengthen the cooperation between the EU member states and the 18 countries of Southeastern Asia in the sector of Information Technology and Communications (IT&C).
Particular emphasis is given to the Small and Medium sized Enterprises, as well as to liaising Asia and Europe for compatible solutions and standards in IT&C.
The National Documentation Centre (EKT), as National Contact Point for the eContent programme, provides information and support services to the Greek bodies (research institutes, universities, companies, public sector) for their successful participation in the programme.
More information regarding the Asia IT&C programme, the participation rules, the procedure for the submission of proposals, the evaluation criteria and the open calls are included, among others, on EKT’s special web service http://www.ekt.gr/ncp/it-asia.
