EKT?s website "Research and Innovation" (www.ekt.gr/research) provides continuous and comprehensive information on developments taking place in the areas of research, technological development and innovation in Greece and Europe.

It is addressed to the Greek research, scientific, educational and business communities, as well as to the general public interested in the above fields.

The website is being developed by EKT, within the frame of the "National Information System for Research and Technology" project, which is co-funded by the European Union (75%) and by the Hellenic State (25%) through the Operational Programme Information Society (3rd CSF 2000-2006).

The gathering of Research and Development (R&D) content, along with its comprehensive organisation and the dissemination to every interested party, supports and reinforces the role of Greece in the European Research Area. To this end, the website, which is available in Greek and English, aims to:

• offer a comprehensive overview of the research and innovation area in Greece and Europe (system, policies, legal framework, programmes, etc)
• provide continuous information on R&D developments (news, events, interviews, press publications, selected issues, etc)
• give information on national and European R&D programmes
• outline activities and projects in the areas of research and innovation, funded by the 3rd CSF and other European programmes such as the 5th and the 6th Framework Programmes for research
• inform on issues related to innovation transfer and utilization of research results at national and international level
• promote cooperation and exchange of know-how between "producers" and "users" of scientific and technological knowledge.

The website "Research and Innovation" is part of the implementation process for the EKT portal, which will contain all the current content of EKT's website, as well as personalised services based on the profile and the needs of the users.
