Academic and public research institutes are invited to submit proposals
to attract and employ researchers from abroad, within the frame of the
"ENTER Programme 2004" that has been recently launched by the Greek
General Secretariat for Research and Technology. The ENTER Programme,
with a total budget that exceeds 3 million euro, is part of the
Operational Programme "Competitiveness". The call will remain open until
the available budget is exhausted but, in any case, no later than 31st
March 2006.
The ENTER Programme is open to universities, Technological Educational
Institutes, as well as to research centers and institutes supervised by
GSRT or any other public organization. The integration of researchers
from abroad to the Greek research system, for a period of 3 to 24
months, which may be extended up to 48 months, aims to enhance
technology and know-how transfer from the international research
community to Greek research entities and vice versa. As a result, the
research bodies will further develop their scientific activities and
they will improve their international networking.
The proposals should be submitted jointly by at least two institutions,
the contractor (university, Technological Educational Institute, public
research centre) and the co-financing body (production unit or services
provider from the public or private sector) that must cover, at minimum
level, 10% of the total budget. The call covers the following sectors:
- Information and Communication Technologies
- Life sciences (human,
plant and animal production, food, marine biology-ecology)
-
Environment, Water and natural disasters management
- Materials
-
Renewable Energy Sources and Energy saving
- Economic development,
regional development and competitiveness
- Employment and vocational
training
- Culture, Sports, Leisure and Tourism
- Space Science
and Technologies
- Other scientific or technological sectors, as long
as the proposals are of high scientific quality and special interest (in
this case, the co-financing partner(s) will cover at least 25% of the
total budget).
